When
I saw on this, I thought it was a photograph of a production
drawing. It appears to be just that.
What I did not realize was that
it is not just a photograph of a production drawing,
but it was actually produced by
Lorimar and used to distribute
among the staff working on the film.
When
I examined it more closely, it appears to possibly be a color
copy of a photograph taken of a larger drawing. It has
"Not for publication" and Lorimar Studios stamped on the front.
You can easily tell it was actually stamped by the studio.
If you look at the back, you
can see ink smears where it was set on top of another photo,
and it's ink smeared on to the back of this photo.
The
original drawing was done by Ron Cobb, who handled production
design on the film.
Ron has worked on other films,
such as Star Wars, Aliens, Back to the Future, ect.
This
is another rare find I did not expect.
| Superb
production concept drawing by Ron Cobb. |
 |
| You
can see that this was put on with a rubber stamp. |
 |
| The
Studio Label was also put on with a rubber stamp |
 |
| Here
on the back you can see the ink from the photo stamped
right before this one. |
 |
| No
mistaking that Ron Cobb signature! |
